Seven Sharp – GorseBusters

Back in 2021, when Okarito Kayaks were just starting to get GorseBusters organised, we envisaged we’d maybe get twenty or so local mates helping us – if we were lucky – to clear invasive gorse around the shorelines of the lagoon for a week.

However, things didn’t quite go to plan. News got out we were trying to do something positive, and the media took an interest – and once Seven Sharp came to film in our quiet little town for the day, the inbox and phone didn’t stop ringing, and GorseBusters really became a huge project for us, taking over our lives for moths at a time.
